We know that the pre-filming process is going on in full swing. The makers are doing camera tests as many of the cast members are already in Atlanta. The final table read is scheduled to take place shortly, and filming is set to commence on January 8, 2024.
During an interview with The Guardian, the Duffer Brothers have revealed that season 5 will be the biggest in the series. They also said that it will have the vibes of season 1.
"This season – it’s like season one on steroids. It’s the biggest it’s ever been in terms of scale, but it has been really fun, because everyone’s back together in Hawkins: the boys and Eleven interacting more in line with how it was in season one."
The creators of Stranger Things ended the interview with some intriguing remarks. In a noteworthy revelation, the Duffer Brothers shared that the stories of Eleven, Dustin, Lucas, and Hopper will reach their conclusion in season 5.
"And, yes, there may be spin-offs, but the story of Eleven and Dustin and Lucas and Hopper, their stories are done here. That’s it…"
The Duffer Brothers also talked about the ending of Stranger Things implying that they will not be affected by fans on social media.
"Endings of shows arelike opening a restaurant in terms of the success-failure rate – there’s an 80% failure rate, I’d say. But I think one very particular way to fail is to attempt to appease everybody. We have a huge variety of fans that span a huge age range and I’m sure they have all their own ideas of how they want the show to end. But we’re not consulting social media on this. Then you just hope and pray that it resonates. But it was funny: once we got there, it just felt right and we’re going to go for it!"
The final season of Stranger Things is expected to arrive in 2025. In the meantime you can watch Stranger Things: The First Shadow which will officially open on December 14, 2023.
