Stranger Things fans believe that the Duffer Brothers are building a major twist in season 5.

With season 5 officially confirmed as the last installment of Stranger Things, fans are bracing for major twists and turns. Season 4 shocked the viewers with the reveal that Vecna is actually Henry Creel also known as 001. It seems like season 5 will deliver another twist on the same lines.

Major Twist is Coming in Stranger Things 5

Stranger Things fans are known for digging deep to find any clues regarding the series. Recently, one fan resurfaced an old interview with David Harbour, which points out that there could be a major reveal in season 5.

During an interview with Variety, he said;

“The Duffers have been building up to something big for season 5. And that many people may not like it, but it’s what the Duffers feel is right.”

“We’re going to take a lot of risks. I think people are going to be pissed off by things. I think they are going to be elated and excited about things. It’s all further in terms of going on this journey.”

Is the Big Reveal Related to Byler?

His statement has sparked many theories about what twist could be. Some fans believe that this could be about Byler (the ship name of  Mike Wheeler and Will Byers). Recently, Finn Wolfhard also said that he was confused about the ending of his character.

“I was so happy with his ending, and I don’t know, I was satisfied, but I was also very confused and sad, but also very happy. I felt like I was in a dream or something. None of it felt real. I don’t know, it felt perfect.”

However, the Duffer Brothers have made it clear that romance would not be a focus in the final season. In an interview with Collider, they said,

“It’s not like there’s gonna be time to explore our characters love life and how steve’s dating is going, there’s gonna be none of that it’s just gonna be going like 100 miles an hour.”

Season 5 Will Finally Explain the Upside Down

Instead, there will be a massive reveal related to the Upside Down. The Duffer Brothers further revealed;

“The big reveals that are coming in Season 5 are really about the Upside Down itself, which we’ve only started to hint at. There was a moment in Season 4 Episode 7 that shows it’s frozen in time. We teased a few more reveals in Volume 2.”

“But it’s all connected to Vecna, a.k.a. Henry, and his journey. What we haven’t fully explained is what the Upside Down actually is. What is that place? Where was Vecna when he discovered the Mind Flayer? Those are the last big reveals coming in Season 5.”
