Stranger Things creators have confirmed a major death for one of Season 4’s characters.
In an interview with Josh Horowitz, the Duffer Brothers confirmed that Dr Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine) has “definitively” died “for real this time”. In season 1, he was thought to be dead but the new episodes revealed that he somehow survived.
The Duffers also said that there is not any survivability of a much more beloved character, Joseph Quinn‘s Eddie Munson. They told Horowitz that the Season 4 newbie “sadly” is deceased. Stranger Things fans have been upset over the fate of Eddie and someone has even started an online petition to bring him back for the final season. Now that Duffer Brothers have confirmed the death of Eddie, those viewers might be disappointed who thought that the character might have survived in the Upside Down
They also confirm that Sadie Sink’s Max is “alive,” although they concede the brain-dead actress has “seen better days.” In season 4, Max went into a coma after a battle with Vecna. Eleven managed to defeat him but it was too late for Max.
