Stranger Things Season 5 Will Be Split into Two Parts
There have been plenty of rumors and speculations regarding the release date of Stranger Things season 5. Since Netflix has not officially made an announcement, it’s understandable. A new report has now suggested a release window for the final season that aligns with the strategy of season 4.
The production of Stranger Things 5 concluded in December 2024 and since then the updates have been sparse. That being said, things are about to change as more information will start to emerge pretty soon. In the meantime, What’s on Netflix has shared some new insights regarding the release plan for the final season.
Leaked Release Date for Stranger Things 5
A few days ago, we reported that a fan leaked the release date of Stranger Things season 5. Reportedly, a Stranger Things fan account uncovered the release date by inspecting the source code of Netflix’s API.
According to the leaked data, Stranger Things season 5 is set to premiere on November 27, 2025. The date falls on Thanksgiving Day making it the perfect time for a weekend binge.
While the release date was not confirmed, Netflix has now removed the page from their website. The fact that it was taken down suggests that the date might have been legitimate and wasn’t meant to be seen by the public.
It is still unclear if the final season would be released in two parts and how the release would unfold. That’s where the new report comes in.
Stranger Things Season 5 Will be Split in Two Parts
According to What’s on Netflix, Stranger Things season 5 will be split into two parts. Volume 1 is expected to be released in October 2025, followed by Volume 2 in November 2025. Considering their access to insider information, this report carries significant credibility.
The report suggested that the leaked release date might have been accurate, citing sources close to Netflix. However, fans should keep in mind that this news has not come directly from Netflix as they are yet to make an official announcement.
The two-part strategy aligns with the season 4 release which was also split into two volumes with seven episodes released in May and other two on July 1st. While the exact release date is not confirmed, the months of October and November are mentioned.
The timing also aligns with Stranger Things Day, which takes place on November 6th. Netflix often uses this day to release new content for Stranger Things fans, making it a fitting occasion for the season finale to drop.
While What’s on Netflix has reported October and November 2025 as the release dates for the two parts, some reports say that season 5 could be released in November and December. Given that some of the season is set around Christmas, this would be an ideal release window for the holiday season.
