The Stranger Things fandom is no stranger to controversies and the latest one involves the show’s lead actors.

Noah Schnapp has been at the center of controversy for some time. In October 2023, he faced heavy criticism for his controversial remarks on the Israel-Palestine conflict. His statement on Twitter drew backlash and the situation escalated when he was seen promoting stickers that contained offensive phrases like “Zionism is Sexy”.

Schnapp has faced significant consequences for his actions on the internet, losing over 3 million followers on Instagram. There were also petitions to replace him from the final season of Stranger Things. Unfortunately, he has also received death threats and deep fake videos of the actor were also circulated online.

Later it was revealed that Netflix was monitoring Noah Schnapp’s behaviour. However, the actor will not be replaced as he is the main focus in season 5. Still, the actor continues to receive hate comments on social media. Now his Stranger Things co-stars Finn Wolfhard and Joey Keery have also become victims of online backlash.

Finn Wolfhard and Joey Keery Facing Criticism

Recently, Schnapp attended the premium of Deadpool and Wolverine with Finn and Joey. Later they were seen together at a tennis match.

Now Finn Wolfhard and Joey Keery are being criticized for hanging out with Noah Schnapp. Some users believe that both actors should stay away from Schnapp due to his allegedly offensive behaviour.

One person said, “okay let me get this straight, so Joe keery and friends not only hung out with Noah Schnapp at the movies (thats meant to be boycotted and is created by multiple zionists) but they were also seen hanging with him at another event too. do you guys think youre being smart?”

Noah Schnapp Addressed the Controversy

The Stranger Things star broke his silence on the controversy in January 2024. He said in a video,

“I just wanted to come on here super briefly just to discuss everything that’s been going on online. I feel like my thoughts and beliefs have been so far misconstrued from anything even close to what I believe, and I wanted to just state from my heart how I feel. I only want peace and safety and security for all innocent people affected by this conflict.”

Currently, Schnapp is filming Stranger Things season 5 in Atlanta. Recently some photos of Will Byers and Mike Wheeler from the sets were leaked on the internet. Since Will is in love with Mike, their story will be the main focus of the final season.
