Stranger Things creators, Ross and Matt Duffer, have confirmed that there will be some character deaths in the last episode of season 4. Stranger Things season 4 part 1 was released on May 27, and volume 2 will be following on July 1.
Stranger Things fans are anxiously awaiting volume 2 after the gripping first volume. The new season introduced Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) as the major villain of the series. It looked as if volume 1 was building up for some character deaths. Noah Schnapp who plays Will Byers was the first star to say that there were going to be some major deaths in volume 2, but now the creators are commenting on it, too.
In an interview with Variety, the Duffer brothers confirmed that there will be some deaths in season 4. The interviewer asked if there would be a body count by the end of the season, and they responded with an affirmative, simply saying, "For sure, for sure."
Hence, the Duffer brothers have officially confirmed that viewers can anticipate some deaths by the end of season 4. It was pretty much expected that there will be one death of a major character but the latest statement is definitely surprising. Also, Duffer brothers have not confirmed if the deaths will be major characters or newer cast additions.

Noah absolutely did not use the word “major.” I think it unlikely that a main character will die yet, but maybe in season 5. Anything could happen of course, but I feel like minor characters could die. Maybe Jason, Enzo… Owens, Brenner could actually die this time since the military comes and shoots out that bunker. I think it’s highly likely that Vecna will die. The actor Jamie said he burst into sobs when they wrapped filming this season, and I don’t know that he’d have done that if he were going to be working on the show again. We’ll see in six days! 😁
I’m conflicted on who the deaths will be. Eddie and Steve are the obvious choices. Steve because there are a ton of rumors going around and Eddie because if he does make it out of all of this, the police already suspect him for killing Chrissy so he would end up arrested anyways. Lucas is a possibility. Why? For becoming a hero and sacrificing himself to save Max or his little sister Erica. Erica is another possibility… why because she is a child on the show but a very strong willed one at that and that would be a huge shocker as is. Erica goes to fight the fight and unfortunately becomes a casualty to it all. Now the one that may be the huge death of the season…. Will. Will threw up black goopy stuff a couple seasons back and walked away like nothing ever happened. It is possible that Will will be controlled by Vecna because Vecna has been secretly around since season one. Vecna uses Will to defeat El (11) and El has to make the ultimate choice to kill Will to “defeat” Vecna. Just my assumptions though.
