We have to wait for three years to see our favorite characters from Hawkins. Now that part 1 of the season has dropped on Netflix, fans are looking ahead to finish with Stranger Things season 4 part 2 later this summer.

How many seasons of Stranger Things are there?

Broken into two volumes, volume one of Stranger Things Season 4 Volume One premiered on May 27, 2022, with Episodes 1 to 7. The show has also already been renewed for a fifth and final season, as announced by Netflix.

Matt Duffer shared: “Partway through outlining, we realized we needed another episode. It was originally going to be eight episodes, and we asked Netflix if they would be open to us having another episode, Episode 9. Which they were super supportive of.”

Stranger Things season 4 volume 2 release date

As we mentioned above, Stranger Things season 4 was split into two parts. The first seven episodes dropped on Friday, May 27. Each episode clocks in at over an hour in length.

Stranger Things season 4 part 2 will be released at 03:00 a.m. Friday, July 1 (US/Eastern Time). It will include just two episodes but both of them will be longer. Stranger Things season 4 part 2 countdown will be updated soon.

The entire main ensemble cast is set to return for Stranger Things 4, which includes Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, and Maya Hawke.

Additionally, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, and Brett Gelman have been promoted to series regulars. And the new season will also see the return of Matthew Modine as Martin Brenner, as confirmed in the second teaser trailer. Also, the eighth episode has been named “Papa”.

New additions to the cast include Jamie Campbell Bower, Eduardo Franco, Joseph Quinn, Robert Englund, Tom Wlaschiha, Nikola Duričko, Joel Stoffer, Sherman Augustus, Mason Dye, Tyner Rushing, and Joe Chrest, Amybeth McNulty, Myles Truitt, Regina Ting Chen, and Grace Van Dien cast in recurring roles.

Netflix provided an overall synopsis of the season:

It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.

We can assume that story of volume 2 will start after the events of episode 7.

Netflix announced that Stranger Things season 4 is comprised of nine episodes that add up to “roughly 13 hours.” Stranger Things season 4 part 2 will have two episodes and one of them will be the longest episode of Stranger Things ever!

Here are the runtimes for part 2 episodes.

  • “Chapter Eight: Papa” — 1 hour and 25 minutes
  • “Chapter Nine: The Piggyback” — “2 hour and 19 minutes.”
