Stranger Things season 5 is approaching fast and so is the fans’ anticipation. Now, Joseph Quinn has teased the possible return of the beloved character Eddie Munson.

Joseph Quinn made his debut in season 4 and his character quickly became the fans’ favourite. But his story ended in tragedy when he sacrificed himself in the Upside Down to save Hawkins. The emotional scene left many fans devastated.

After Eddie’s death, many fans started online campaigns and petitions demanding his return. One petition alone got over 80000 signatures, showing just how much character meant to the community.

Joseph Quinn Hints Eddie Munson Will Return

Quinn has previously hinted at a possible comeback in the final season. Now, another significant reveal is giving fans even more hope.

While promoting his upcoming film The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Quinn was asked by Extra TV if he would be returning for Stranger Things 5. He replied:

“Oh my god, yeah, I mean, it’s going to be out soon, isn’t it? Who knows? There’s always a chance for anything, isn’t there, really? Nothing’s impossible.”

Joseph Quinn’s Page Updated to Include Stranger Things

Adding fuel to speculations, What’s on Netflix recently pointed out that Quinn’s Spotlight page has been updated to include Stranger Things but with a 2024 release date. That is odd considering season 4 aired back in 2024. Interestingly, Season 5 was also filmed throughout 2024, which suggests that Quinn may have returned to shoot scenes for the final chapter.

Recently released teaser shows Dustin going to visit Eddie Muson’s grave, which has been defaced with words that say “BURN IN HELL”. In season 4, many people wrongly blamed Eddie for the deaths in Hawkins.

Leaked set photos from last year also showed Dustin distressed with injuries and a torn shirt. It hints at a possible confrontation with the bullies at the grave site.

Will Eddie Munso Return in Stranger Things 5?

It seems likely that Eddie will return in a flashback scene only in the final season. It is already revealed that his death will deeply impact Dustin and help reunite the core four boys of Stranger Things.

Eddie Munson may be gone, but his legacy will not be forgotten. While it is not confirmed but set photos from last year suggested that he might be honored in another way in season 5
