Finn Wolfhard is recently promoting his upcoming film The Legend of Ochi. During an interview with Variety, Wolfhard talked about filming the final episode of Stranger Things 5.

“It was incredibly emotional, obviously. It’s the last 10 years of my life. Also for the creators, the Duffer Bros. started when they were 30 and now they are 40. Everyone had a long journey and shared it together. My whole childhood was there. It was sort of the ‘Toy Story 3’ moment of leaving your toys behind. It was really special.”

The actor also compared the filming process of the final season to the epic scale of Lond of the Rings. He said,

“We had a long last year. We shot sort of ‘Lord of the Rings’ style with a year-long shoot. It was a great way to go out and very intense. I feel like it couldn’t have ended better. This is the first movie that I’m promoting since, so it feels like post-graduation or something. I am excited for everything to come out.”

In a separate conversation with Deadline, Finn Wolfhard revealed that he got depressed after the filming was wrapped.

“I was feeling a bit depressed about it being over just because of not being able to see everyone and stuff. And then you remember…You’re like, ‘Oh, but it comes out and people get to see it, and you get to re-experience it with everyone. A lot of people grew up on that show. It was a very emotional thing to leave behind. But I’m incredibly excited just to see the show because you work for something for so [long].”

Finn Wolfhard was seen filming for the final episode in December 2024. Some photos from the sets were leaked, showing Wolfhard filming an emotional and heartbreaking scene along with David Harbour (Jim Hopper). This led to widespread speculations among fans about a possible tragedy in the finale.

Meanwhile, Finn Wolfhard’s upcoming film “The Legend of Ochi” will open in theaters on April 25, 2025.
