Stranger Things Season 5 Theory Says Vecna isn’t The Final Villain
The stage is set for one last battle with Vecna in Stranger Things Season. But a new theory claims that he isn’t the final big bad, and a more powerful villain is still to come.
The main villain of season 1 was the Demogorgon. In Season 2, it was the Demodog and the Shadow Monster. In Season 3, the Mind Flayer was the major baddie. Finally, season 4 introduced Vecna who was the most terrifying villain from Stranger Things.
Vecna manipulated people using their traumas and later killed them. At the end of season 4, Vecna manages to succeed in his plan but he goes into hiding. Now season 5 could see the arrival of another monster.
In season 4, it was revealed that Vecna is Henry Creel, also known as 001 who was transformed into a monster when Eleven banished him to the Upside Down.
It was the show’s biggest reveal so far, but on TikTok, @demi_kuijperss believes another villain could come forward in the final season.
In her video, the creator points out that Vecna isn’t the most powerful villain in Dungeons & Dragons – actually it is Borys, the Dragon of Tyr, the most powerful creature in existence on Athas.
There is another hint in season 4 when Will Byers showed his painting, that featured knights taking on a three-headed, red dragon, which bears some resemblance to that feared dragon Borys.
Borys was introduced as part of the Dark Sun campaign setting in 1991. Though Stranger Things is set in the ’80s, the show’s creators have teased a time jump – which means it can cross over into the ’90s, and if so, that could open the door to Borys.
If Stranger Things does introduce a dragon following Will’s painting, it could also be an incarnation of Tiamat, the five-headed queen and mother of evil dragons; or perhaps even Tarrasque, “the most dreaded monster native to the Prime Material Plane” and “a killing machine,” according to the 2nd edition Monstrous Manual.
