The commencement of filming for the ultimate season of Stranger Things is just around the corner. As the countdown to production intensifies, the dedicated production team is actively engaged in constructing new sets.
The pre-production work has been going on for quite some time now. Lately, construction is currently underway for a fresh set dedicated to the Netflix show, as the crew is actively putting the finishing touches on a location in Atlanta, Georgia.
First look photos from the sets have been leaked online. It looks like Hawkins is undergoing notable expansions, featuring the introduction of a recently established military facility complete with a checkpoint. Additionally, the town now boasts new downtown businesses and an industrial maintenance facility.

It is being shot at the studio that once hosted the filming of Hunger Games. The images reveal a transformed downtown Hawkins within a secure military compound. One photograph captures a shopfront taking shape on the main street of the town, while another depicts two bunker-like structures.
At the end of season 4, Hawkins was in shambles after it was struck by a massive earthquake. It looks like that in season 5 the city will fall under military control in response to the escalating paranormal events.
Filming is anticipated to kick off in the first week of January 2024. In a recent development, the cast of Stranger Things conducted a table read for the first six episodes earlier this month. The remaining two episodes are scheduled for a table read in the upcoming days because it will be very emotional.
However, they have not released the photos or videos from the table read yet. Netflix may have done it deliberately as there is a huge controversy surrounding Noah Schnapp as many users want him to be replaced in the final season of Stranger Things. The actor's recent actions have caused a huge storm on social media.
Schnapp was caught in the controversy after he made a statement on the Israel-Palestine conflict. Later he was seen promoting stickers that contained offensive phrases like Ziomisim is Sexy. Since then there have been many demands for the actor to be fired from Stranger Things or else people are threatening to boycott the final season.
