Stranger Things Season 5 Episode Count Is Revealed
The episode count for season 5 of Stranger Things has been revealed in a new behind-the-scenes image.
Stranger Things returned for season 4 after an almost three-year hiatus. Upon release, it became Netflix’s most-watched English series this summer. The new season was split across two volumes, released a month apart. The total runtime was nearly 13 hours throughout its 9 episodes. The finale of the season was clocking in at 2 hours and 19 minutes. Now, the creators of the series have seemingly confirmed the size of Stranger Things’ fifth season.
The official Twitter account for Stranger Things’ writing team (@strangerwriters) recently shared an image that teased season 5’s episode count. The BTS image confirms that season 5 will have a total of 8 episodes. Check out the post below:

The Duffer brothers have previously said that season 5 will be shorter as compared to season 4. He said, “I don’t think the run times will be as extreme in season five. We’re trying to return to the simplicity of the structure in season one, with a bigger scale and scope. Except for the finale, which I’m expecting will be pretty massive.”
Stranger Things’ writing team announced that season 5 is in the early stage of development on August 2nd. Filming for season 5 will reportedly begin next year. It is expected to be released in 2024, so the audience would not have to wait three years to see their favourite characters from Stranger Things.
