Stranger Things' new season has finally arrived and everything has changed. At the end of last season, the Byers and Eleven moved out of Hawkins. Now they are adjusting to their life in California.

At the start when we saw Will, Eleven is writing a letter to Mike updating him on their new life in California. During her updates, she says that Will is painting a lot but won’t show her what he’s working on. She suggests that maybe it was for someone he likes.
He took the painting with him when he went to the airport to pick up Mike. He makes sure to grab it when fleeing the house during the shootout.
Though the show has not revealed what Will has painted, it seems that it might play a bigger role in the final two episodes of the season. There could be two theories regarding the painting.
In past seasons, Will’s art has held major clues to key events such as how his art in season 2 ended up revealing a map of the underground tunnels in Hawkins. It might be that whatever Will has painted might hold a clue to stopping Vecna.
It could also be that Will has painted this for his best friend Mike Wheeler. It seems as though the painting was a gift for Mike, but again, he doesn’t give it to him and the painting isn’t revealed in Stranger Things season 4 part 1.

I was thinking it could be like something to mike
In the past he’s drew things for instants the drawing of the mind flayer then the tunnels/vines now there is vecnas curse so I think it is a clue on how to stop the curse
IDK, maybe something as a present for El? Or it may not even be one person but the whole gang (Max, El, Dustin, Mike, etc)
i think he painted something for mike because when he went to greet him he took the painting with him
