With Stranger Things finally coming to an end, fans are crafting new theories about season 5. Recently, leaked photos from the season 5 set surfaced online, supporting some of the darker Stranger Things theories.

If you don’t know, Nell Fisher has replaced the actress playing Holly Wheeler. Netflix has not provided any explanation for this casting change but it suggests that Holly Wheeler will have a significant role in the final season. Hence they needed a more experienced actress for the role.

Nell Fisher has already established herself as a talented actress. She was recently featured in “Evil Dead Rise,” which showed her skills in the horror genre. It makes her a fitting choice for the darker themes in the upcoming season.

Recently some photos from the sets of season 5 surfaced online. These images have given a boost to two very dark Stranger Things theories. Let’s delve into these intriguing possibilities.

Vecna will Kidnap Holly Wheeler in Season 5

Holly Wheeler has already witnessed some strange things. In season 1, she saw the Demogorgon attempting to push through the wall at Byers’s house. Most recently, Holly was seen excitedly observing what she thought was snowfall in Hawkins, but it was ash.

There were some leaked photos from season 5 sets showing Holly Wheeler riding her bike alongside Mike Wheeler and Will Byers. In other pictures, she is seen wearing the same outfit while encountering the human version of Vecna. This has sparked a theory that Vecna will abduct Holly Wheeler in season 5 and will take her to the Upside Down.

Theory: Stranger Things Will Go Back in Time to Season 1

This theory is further fueled by rumours that season 5 episode 2 is titled “The Vanishing of [SPOILER] Wheeler.” If Holly Wheeler is indeed the subject of this episode, her disappearance would parallel Will’s kidnapping in season 1. Will was also riding her bike when he was taken to the Upside Down and Holly’s abduction will mirror this event.

If this theory holds true, Will Byers may need to rescue Holly Wheeler from the Upside Down. This will offer Will a chance to confront and heal from his own trauma associated with the Upside Down, turning his past experiences into a redemptive act.

Karen Wheeler is Henry Creel’s Sister Theory

It seems odd for Vecna to target specifically Holly Wheeler. A wild Karen Wheeler theory has provided an intriguing explanation for his choice.

This dark theory suggests that Karen Wheeler is Vecna’s younger sister, Alice Creel. It was first theorized when Karen received a separate poster, despite being a minor character. Also, her poster featured the Creel House despite her having no connection to the Creel family.

Season 4 showed that Alice Creel was killed alongside her mother, but her body was never shown on-screen. This has opened the possibility that she survived and was then raised by another family.

If this Karen Wheeler theory is true, it would explain why Vecna will target Holly Wheeler. Vecna could kidnap Holly to take revenge on his sister. This will destabilize the Wheeler family, especially Nancy. She has already witnessed her family’s deaths in a vision in season 4.
