Brown recently attended The Stranger Fan Meet Tour in Belgium, hosted by the People Con. During the event, she also met fans and took photos with them. However, one particular image from the event has sparked controversy.

A photo surfaced online featuring Brown with a specially abled fan. However, some users quickly noticed that Brown was posting from her seat while the fan was in her wheelchair. The noticeable distance between them with the fan leaning toward Brown, makes it an awkward frame.

Critics pointed out that tickets for the event cost around €170 ($200), making the moment feel even more disappointing for some fans.

Fans Call Out Millie Bobby Brown’s Behaviour

As the photo quickly went viral on the internet, the Stranger Things star was slammed for her behavior. One such user wrote on X,

“So let me get this straight: this girl paid $200 for this photo, and bc she’s in a wheelchair it’s harder for her to get closer for a nicer picture with Millie Bobby Brown.  Yet Millie still didn’t stand up to accommodate her for a shot that takes 5 seconds max?”

Another added, “Knowing all the accommodations someone in a wheelchair has to make in order to go through public spaces, travel,…the bare minimum was to get her ass up and stand closer to her fan (who also paid a fcking lot to meet her).”

A third person shared their experience, “I met MBB back when stranger things was starting and she is still one of the worst celeb con experiences I’ve had. Charged $$$ and couldn’t make eye contact with a single person, basically didn’t want to be there.”

Despite the backlash, some fans came to Brown’s defense. They argued that people were jumping to conclusions without knowing the full story.

One fan wrote, “why do non disabled people get mad on behalf of disabled people, we have ZERO context it could’ve been a sensory thing, a health risk thing, a chronic pain thing etc unless the girl in the photo has an issue with this i would shut the fuck up idk”

Another user added, “i’ve seen so many ignorant takes on this & it’s pissing me off. one of my friend’s sister is disabled that i’ve known since i was a teenager. i wouldn’t go up to her & give her a hug because it would freak her out. no one knows this young woman or why millie didn’t get closer”

The Actual Truth Behind The Viral Photo

Amid the controversy, some attendees at the event pointed out that Brown did hug her and sign her wheelchair. The fan herself shared photos of their meeting on Facebook.

Despite the clarifications, Brown continued to receive hate on the internet. The original post has now been viewed over 19 million times on X.

This isn’t the first time Millie Bobby Brown has been at the center of online drama. Recently, there were rumors that she has a feud with Stranger Things co-star Winona Ryder.

While some believe this latest controversy is overblown, it’s clear that Brown remains a polarizing figure on social media.
