Priah Ferguson is ready to say goodbye to Stranger Things as the series heads to its final season.

The actress plays the much beloved Erica Sinclair in the show. Her character quickly became a fan favourite in season 3 thanks to her hilarious interactions with Lucas Sinclair and Murray Bauman were hilarious. She got a wider role in season 4 and featured in some of the crucial scenes.

Production for the final season has been underway since January 2024. Priah Ferguson recently provided a positive update on season 5.

Priah Ferguson Gives Stranger Things 5 Update

In a recent interview with PEOPLE about Bath & Body Works’ latest Stranger Things collection, the actress opened up about the final season. She said, “Filming’s going great. I believe everybody is fascinated about the finale and about closing the last season in such an epic way.”

However, Priah Ferguson also admits that she has to keep the most of show’s details secret. “You know, I can’t say much, but it’s been great so far.”

Reflecting on working with her co-stars again, she said, “This season in particular, the dynamic is great. It might get a little bittersweet because it may be our last time working together or seeing each other or just working on such a big show like Stranger Things.”

Proah Ferguson also discussed how she would like fans to remember her character. “I really want Erica to be looked at as a character who has evolved. Erica, at first, she was kind of, I guess people labeled her as rude or annoying, but as you watched the show more and grew to know Erica, I would definitely say that I want people to walk away with knowing that she has become what they want to see.”

Erica Could be the Key to Defeat Vecna

Priah Ferguson is expected to play a much wider role in the final season. Some fans have even theorized that she will be the one to kill Vecna.

In season 4, she joined Eddie’s Dungeon and Dragons campaign. Each member of the club tried to defeat Vecna but failed. Ultimately it was Erica who succeeded. This scene might have foreshadowed that Erica will be the key to killing Vecna.
