Noah Schnapp Broke Down Saying Goodbye to Winona Ryder: “This Is My Mom”
Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp has revealed that saying goodbye to Winona Ryder was extremely hard.
Winona Ryder played Joyce Byers in the beloved Netflix series and is the mother of Will and Jonathan Byers. She has been a central figure in the series and her relentless search for her missing son in the first season was a huge part of what made Stranger Things an instant phenomenon.

Will and Joyce shared a deep bond throughout the series, particularly in the earlier seasons. Their on-screen relationship was one of the show’s most emotional anchors.
Schnapp recently attended the TUDUM event to promote Stranger Things season 5. During an interview with Variety, the actor reflected on the final day on the set of season 5.
“I did overwhelmingly cry on the last day, which just goes to show how much love I have for the show. And everyone’s goodbyes, too. I went to every person’s rap and cried at each one. I think one of the most surprising ones for me was saying goodbye to Winona on her last day. I went and I just was like in her trailer and I gave her a hug. I didn’t want to let her go, I was like “This is my mom I don’t I don’t want to say I don’t want it to end.” And like I just didn’t expect that to be such a hard goodbye. But yeah, everyone was harder than the next.”
The actor also said the creators of Stranger Things don’t trust the cast with spoilers and have only seen bits of the final season.
“They keep us in the dark cuz they don’t trust us either. I begged them to show me something, but they showed little tidbits here and there. And when I’m on set, like I’ll video stuff just for myself to like show my family, cuz they won’t show me anything.”
Noah Schnapp Talks About Pride Month
Schnapp also talked about Pride Month, revealing that it is his favourite month of the year.
“I remember like growing up and just wanting so badly to be a part of it and celebrate it and I couldn’t and now every year it’s just it’s my favorite month of the year 100%. Me and my friends make a huge deal out of gay pride month and it’s just so fun to get to celebrate it and be out and you know proud.”
Netflix has released the official teaser for Stranger Things season 5. The much-awaited final season rollout in three parts, with Part 1 premiering on November 26, Part 2 arriving on Christmas Day, and the grand finale dropping on New Year’s Eve.
