Winona Ryder Updates on Stranger Things 5 Filming Wrap-Up
Stranger Things star Winona Ryder has shared her honest review on the final season of the series.
Season 5 of Stranger Things has been in production since January 2025. Recently the Duffer Brothers revealed that they are halfway through filming. Despite the initial delays due to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, the production is now going smoothly.
Winona Ryder Update on Stranger Things 5 Filming
In a recent interview with E! News, Winona Ryder provided an update on the filming status of Stranger Things. She revealed in her interview, “We’re still filming, it’s still happening till the end of the year. It’s going to be bittersweet.”
The actress also reflected on how she did not expect Stranger Things to become such a phenomenon. “It is the 10th year of that, which is wild. I could never I never imagined it would, you know, it’s sort of like Beetlejuice. I don’t think any of us anticipated that show becoming what it did.”
There have been conflicting reports on when the filming for Stranger Things will wrap up. A few months ago, Atlanta Filming reported that filming would conclude on December 22, 2024. However recent rumours suggested that filming might extend to February 2025.
It’s possible that Winona Ryder’s scenes will be completed by 2025 while filming for other actors could continue beyond that date.
Stranger Things Season 5 Release Date
Despite these uncertainties, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos has also confirmed that the final season of Stranger Things is scheduled to be released in 2025.
“Looking forward through 2025, you’ve got new seasons of Wednesday, Stranger Things, and The Night Agent, and we’re in production on One Piece, so there’s a ton of excitement there just in our series.”
Stranger Things 5 may follow a similar format to season 4, potentially being split into two volumes.
