Is Eddie Munson really coming back? Stranger Things fans might just have a reason to hope again.

Joseph Quinn recently teased that Eddie Munson could return in the final season. Now, a UK-based magazine may have accidentally confirmed it.

Eddie Munson stole the spotlight in Stranger Things Season, quickly becoming a global sensation. Despite his death in the end, fans have been demanding his return for season 5. And it looks like that wish might come true.

Joseph Quinn Hints Eddie Will Return in Stranger Things 5

Just a few days ago, Joseph Quinn was asked whether his character could make a comeback in Stranger Things 5. The actor replied:

“Oh my god, yeah, I mean, it’s going to be out soon, isn’t it? Who knows? There’s always a chance for anything, isn’t there, really? Nothing’s impossible.”

There were even more speculations when What’s On Netflix pointed out that Quinn’s Spotlight page was updated to include Stranger Things with a 2024 release date. Interestingly, the filming for season 5 also took place last year.

UK Magazine May Have Leaked His Return

Man About Town Magazine shared a recent photoshoot with Joseph Quinn on Instagram. Alongside praising his role as the Human Torch in Fantastic Four, the caption originally stated:

“Quinn will also return this year in the final season of Stranger Things.”

When the post gained traction among fans, the magazine edited it to remove the reference to Stranger Things. The magazine later clarified that it was an error.

“An original version of this post incorrectly stated that Quinn would be returning to Stranger Things for Season 5. Unfortunately we aren’t privy to such intel, this was simply an error, but we would always love to see an unlikely return as well!”

Will Eddie Munson Return in Stranger Things 5?

The multiple hints and signs point out that Eddie Munson will return for the final season. There are several theories on how the character can be resurrected.

One popular theory is that Eddie Munson might have transformed into Camazotz after his death. In Mayan mythology, Camazotz is a bat spirit that literally translates to “death bat”. Interestingly, the sixth episode is titled The Escape from Camazotz and it could be related to Eddie.

Although this theory is intriguing, we still feel that he will only appear in the flashback scenes. His death had a significant impact on Dustin Henderson and Season 5 might revisit those emotional moments.
