Netflix has unveiled some brand new footage from Stranger Things season 5. However, it will not be available to the public just yet.

The final season of Stranger Things is one of the most anticipated series of 2025. Yet with almost half of the year already gone, Netflix has remained surprisingly tight-lipped. The lack of updates has left die-hard fans frustrated and anxious. Now, the latest update might only add to their disappointment.

Netflix Shows Stranger Things 5 Footage at Upfront Event

Netflix recently had its Upfront event at the Perelman Performing Arts Center in Manhattan. The streaming giant used the occasion to promote the upcoming shows and movies.

The audience was also treated to special behind-the-scenes footage from Stranger Things 5. As per the reports, the promo was similar to what was shown during the Next on Netflix event. However, the new clip was exclusive to the event’s audience and would not be released online.

Stranger Things stars Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin were also present at the event. They promised an emotional and epic conclusion to the series that helped shape the golden era of streaming.

Back in January, Netflix also showed an exclusive clip from Stranger Things 5 to journalists. The footage confirmed the return of Vecna after his injuries in the season 4 finale. It also showcased Max running through a mysterious void and the first look at Linda Hamilton’s character.

One of the most significant reveals showed Eleven wearing oversized clothes to hide her identity. She was also seen sharing a touching moment with Mike Wheeler, saying, “they don’t get to write the ending, but we do.” It also featured a character screaming in the Upside Down. While it was not clear, many viewers thought that it was Will Byers who was being targeted by Vecna.

Stranger Things 5 Teaser to Drop on May 31

While it has been a long wait, the fans will likely get the first glimpse into the final season pretty soon. The much-anticipated Stranger Things 5 teaser will premiere during the TUDUM event on May 31, 2025.

Although Netflix has not officially confirmed the teaser release date, a post from Netflix South Africa last week revealed that the first teaser for season 5 would drop on May 31. After the post quickly went viral, Netflix deleted it from its account.

In addition to the teaser, we will also likely get the release date for the final season. Though many leaks have already revealed that Stranger Things 5 will be released in two parts: Volume 1 on October 10, 2025, followed by Volume 2 on November 27, 2025.
