Is Eminem Playing a Villain in Stranger Things Season 5?

June 5, 2025

Is Eminem really playing a villain in Stranger Things season 5? A viral rumour making rounds on social media claims that the rapper will play a dark character in the final season.

While the idea certainly sounds exciting, there is no official confirmation from Netflix or the show’s creators to back it up. So, where did this rumour even start? Let’s break it down.

Will Eminem Star in Stranger Things 5?

Over the year, Stranger Things has featured several celebrities for guest roles. Sean Austin won fans over as Bob Newby in season 2 before he was killed by the demogorgon. Season 4 also featured horror legend Robert Englund, who played Victor Creel. So, the idea of Eminem joining the cast is not completely outlandish. But is it true?

The rumour began when a Facebook post from a page called “Rap Music Star” went viral. The post claimed that a Netflix insider had revealed that Eminem will be playing a dark character in Season 5. However, the post cited a non-verified site as its source, with no direct ties to Netflix or Stranger Things.

Hence, the news that Eminem will play the villain in Stranger Things seems to be fake. Instead of joining the Upside Down, Eminem will feature in another Netflix series, Happy Gilmore 2.

The confirmed main cast for the final season includes David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Charlie Heaton, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman and Jamie Campbell Bowers.

Meanwhile, fans have found the actress who will play young Joyce Byers in season 5.

Netflix recently released the Stranger Things 5 teaser, featuring several major characters. The final season will be released in three parts: November 26, December 25, and December 31, 2025.
