David Harbour Calls Stranger Things Season 5 Finale ‘The Best Episode Ever’
David Harbour has declared that the final episode of Stranger Things season 5 is the best in the series.
The highly anticipated season 5 is likely to be released sometime in 2025. It has been confirmed that the final season will include eight episodes though they will be longer than usual.
Stranger Things Cast was ‘Uncontrollably Crying’ During Final Episode Table Read
Harbour teased new insights regarding the final season during an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. He revealed to host Josh Horowitz that the cast recently read through the last episode, which turned out to be a deeply emotional experience.
“The end of this [final] episode when we were reading it — just us reading it — about halfway through, people started crying. Then about the last 20 minutes, it was just uncontrollably crying, waves of different people. Noah Schnapp being my favorite.”
“I think part of that also is the fact that these kids, it was their childhood. It’s 10 years later, and we examine that idea, and it’s so well done and so beautiful … It’s such a great episode, and it’s such a great season. You guys will love it.”
Stranger Things 5 Finale is the Best Episode Ever
David Harbour also praised the finale of Stranger Things 5, calling it the best episode the show has ever produced.
“Look, I’m very close to the show, so I have very strong opinions. And they may not match yours if you’re a fan of the show. I’m an actor on the show. So I see the nuts and bolts, and sometimes I get mad if I think there’s a bad episode or a season I didn’t like.”
“I can be very critical of this show. But in season 5 episode 8, they land the plane, and it is the best episode they’ve ever done.”
Stranger Things cast read the script for the final episode on Gaten Matarazzo’s 22nd birthday and Netflix captured the moment on the film. The behind-the-scenes video of the cast table is likely to be released on Stranger Things Day.
Earlier David Harbour spoke about the emotional experience during an interview with Comic Book.
“We just read we just did a read through of the last episode and the amount of crying… like the episode is very beautiful. But there’s also a deeper level of that, this was actually their childhood. They were 11 years old and grew up and fought this monster. And I’ve never seen so much heavy, heavy weeping from teenagers or young adults in my life.”
Stranger Things Season 5 Filming Update
