Stranger Things star Winona Ryder has reprised her Edward Scissorhands role in a new car commercial with Timothée Chalamet.
The actress featured in the Tim Burton classic alongwith with Johnny Depp more than 30 years ago. Now she has once again stepped into the role of Kim for a Cadillac ad, which aired during the Super Bowl on Sunday.
In the 60-second commercial, we see Kim as the mother of Edgar Scissorhands (Chalamet), the son of Depp’s title character, as he struggles to get to grips with his scissor blade fingers during everyday situations. After seeing her son playing a virtual reality racing game, Kim naturally comes up with the idea to buy him a Cadillac LYRIQ crossover, an all-electric vehicle that includes a hands-free driving system.
Speaking about the ad, Tim Burton said in a statement: “It’s rare when a work you’re proud of continues to live on and evolve with the times, even after 30 years. I’m glad to see Edgar coping with the new world! I hope both fans and those being introduced to Edward Scissorhands for the first time enjoy it.”
